Dom Robert x Jeanne De Marguerye

Champs Fleuris

$299.00 USD

Tax included.

This design is the result of a collaboration with Jeanne de Marguerye and the Abbaye d'En Calcat, and is inspired by Dom Robert's 20th-century works, in which plants were treated with freedom and rhythm. Recreated by hand by Jeanne de Marguerye, the pattern offers a rich and harmonious composition of a magnificent, luxuriant garden

Dom Robert (1907–1997), whose real name was Guy de Chaunac-Lanzac, was born in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. A Benedictine monk at the Abbey of En Calcat, he was one of the masters of contemporary tapestry. His artistic life was shaped by the contemplation of nature, by sketches and drawings, by the creation of cartoons, by the numbered translation of colors, and by the supervision of weavings in the Aubusson workshops.
